Flat Eva Visits the Ranch

For the last two weeks, we got to have my niece "Flat Eva" visit us on the farm! We had a blast hanging out with the cows, riding the donkey, snowshoeing and climbing hay bales. If you're not familiar with the school project, there's a childrens book called Flat Stanley. "The book recounts the adventures of Stanley Lambchop after surviving being crushed while sleeping by a falling bulletin board. He survives and makes the best of his altered state, and soon he is entering locked rooms by sliding under the door, being rolled up to go out to the park and playing with his younger brother by being used as a kite. One special advantage is that Flat Stanley can now visit his friends in California by being mailed in an envelope!"
My niece Eva's class recently read Flat Stanley and created their own version of themselves in flat form.
Kids send a flat visitor to a family member, a friend or anyone of interest and the recipient returns the little flat guy along with a journal or some souvenirs such as post cards, photos, or special items from their adventures. A few years ago I had the opportunity to have my other nice, Flat Lily visit us on the farm where we had a lot of the same adventures. Watch the video below of Flat Eva's visit to Highland Creek Ranch!
