Our Herd

When we first started Highland Creek Ranch, we had two miniature Hereford/Highland heifers and one miniature Hereford/Highland bull. We've since expanded and now have five mamas and one purebred Highland bull. In the near future we hope to expand to more pure bred miniature highland cattle. It is our goal by 2025 to have 10 head of miniature highlands in our pastures.

Meet our mamas.

We have four Highland/Hereford cross cows and one Highland/Longhorn cross heifer. Very easy calving and no assistance needed. Rory and Loreli were rescues from a neglectful farm and had very very little human interaction back in 2017. They have since become very comfortable around us and have produced amazing calves. Sansa and Arya were born from Loreli and Rory by our first bull. We kept them and decided to purchase a new bull for breeding so they could stay with us on the farm. Bri joined us in 2019 and this year (2021) is her first year calving. We're excited to see what her calves will look like.

Meet the dad.

Fergus is our purebred miniature Scottish Highland bull. He is a retired champion show bull and has won several awards for his strong pedigree. Fergus joined us all the way from Arkansas in the summer of 2019 and has since produced gorgeous calves. He is by far our friendliest animal on the farm and loves when you bring treats and head scratches!

Meet our babies.

2021 was our first year of calves produced from our purebred Highland bull. They are the cutest little calves and definitely carry more of the highland gene.
